JUNE 5-8
SEE HOW WE GROW! -  Join us this week as we fill the new YCS garden with lovely summer flowers and veggies.  We will focus on nature and the wonder of how things grow.  Planting projects will be led by our own Ms. Sue who, on the weekend is a gardening guru and earthworm wrangler.   Joy Fuchs  of Science Excitement! will lead a day of discovery of edible plants and their parts from our own garden.
2 June 19-22 TELL ME A TALE - This week  camp will center around some of your child's most beloved stories.  Campers will feel like they have been placed inside  their favorite books  as they explore stories through music, art, crafts and games.  Jessica Dykes, our Letter Bugs teacher will joins the  staff this week with special games and activities surrounding each story.  
3 June 26-29 WE LIKE TO MOVE IT MOVE IT! -  Cindy Balte will lead our campers as they get their  groove on during our physically fantastic week of dance, games and yoga fun.  We will rock & roll, line dance and limbo ourselves into a high energy state before chillin' it back down with some mellow yoga moves.  We end the week with a P'S & Cue's Puppet Show Humphrey the Horse Has Good Health!
4 July 10-13 MR. KMART CONDUCTS: Music From Around the World - This musical week we will explore music from other countries and cultures.  Campers will  dance  Irish jigs,  drum out African tribal beats, explore diggeridoos from Down Under and head to the islands for some steel drum excitement.   It will be a busy week of songs, instruments, dances and hands on fun.  We end the week with a special musical guest performance you won't want your child to miss!
5 July 17-20 THE WRITE STUFF -Utilizing songs, and strategies from the Handwriting Without Tears program, we will take our bodies, voices, hands and brains on a multi-sensory journey designed to introduce and reinforce the building blocks of handwriting.  Tracey Bell, Occupational Therapist at YCS will engage campers in a variety of games and activities designed to strengthen gross and fine motor skills.  But shhh, that's a grown up secret, the kids will think it's all just  games and play!
6 July 24-27 LITTLE PICASSOS - It's time to get artsy as we create mini-masterpieces in the styles of some of history's greatest artists.  After viewing the works of Picasso, Pollack, Van Gogh, Seurat and others, we will sculpt, paint and unlock our inner artist.  Ms. Martha returns to guide campers through the process guaranteed to be fun fun fun!  A YCS Gallery Showing will finish up our masterful week of creativity.
